On Remembrance Day

November 11, 2014

This was post is a difficult one to write. How do you quantify Remembrance Day with words, other than quoting In Flanders Fields? (Especially since the recent attack on Parliament Hill is┬ábound to be on every Canadians mind today.) So I’m not going to fill this post with words today, today’s post is all about remembering those who gave their lives so we could have ours – whether you make it to an official ceremony or not.

The following photos are a small selection of photos I took during the Remembrance Day Ceremonies I attended in Ottawa in 2007 during the Encounters with Canada program. It was an incredibly touching ceremony and being part of the poppy laying ceremony, watching as the Tomb of the Unknown soldier quickly turned red with the remembrance of Canadian citizens was just so humbling.
