Tis the Season with Amy

Hey everyone! I’m still stuck in finals land, but it will be over soon! Hurray! But before we get there I’ve got a stunning holiday themed makeup look from Amy. That eyeshadow is BEAUTIFUL. – JodiTis the Season with Amy

Hey all! It is time to get festive and nothing shouts Christmas quite like red, evergreen and glitter. I wanted to incorporate a little bit of everything into this Christmas appropriate look therefore it is pretty dramatic but who doesn’t love a little drama? Hope you love it just as much as I did!

Primer: Smashbox Photo Finish Primer in Colour Correcting

Foundation: Benefit Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow foundation in I’m Pure 4 Sure (Ivory)

Concealer: Lise Watier Colour Wheel & Rimmel Match Perfection 2 in 1 in 125 Fair

Powder: Bare Minerals Well Rested Concealer/brightener

Finishing Powder: Hourglass Ambient Lighting palette

I primed my face with a colour correcting primer and then used a green concealer to do a little extra colour correcting around my nose, cheeks and chin. I then used ivory under my eyes as a first step concealer before blending in my favourite Benefit foundation. For some extra brightening, I double up on the concealer and set it with the well rested concealer. To highlight, I used Incandecent Light from the Hourglass palette and Dim light everywhere else for some extra glow.

Brow Powder: Quo Brow Powder in Brunette

Brow Gel: Benefit Gimmie Brow in Light/Medium

Lipstick: Bite Beauty Bite For VIB Rouge

Blush: BH Cosmetics

After the base was done, I did my brows quite heavily with a powder and set it with my Benefit Gimmie Brow. For the lips, I used a red I haven’t actually used before but now, I am obsessed. It’s the Bite for VIB Rouge lipstick that comes (or came) with the VIB Rouge card. For some blush, I used the BH Cosmetics palette I have been neglecting (yet totally love). I mainly used the deep rose shade (#1) but dipped into the cool pink (#2) to make it a little brighter and cooler.

Primer: Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Eyeshadow base: City Color White Gold

Eyeshadow: BH Cosmetics 88 Cool Matte Eyeshadow Palette

Pencil Eyeliner: Annabelle Smoothliner eye liner in Jade

Liquid Eyeliner: Jesse’s Girl Eyeliner in Black

Glitter eyeliner: (Not pictured) Sephora Eyeliner in VIP Gold

Mascara: Marcelle Curling and Lengthening mascara**

First, I primed my eyes before adding the gorgeous white gold base all over. It’s quite creamy so you do need a primer. I applied the brown (#1) to the crease for some warmth then the kaki green (#2) into the crease as well and bringing it onto the lid. With the gold (#3), I filled in the inner half of the lid before using the vibrant evergreen (#4) all over the lid. I reapplied the gold (#3) to make it a little more vibrant.

With the eyeshadow done, I used the Jade pencil liner on my bottom lashes and blended it out with the evergreen (#4) eye shadow I had used all over my lid. Finally, the eyeliner. I used the Jesse’s Girl liner to make a wing and though you could stop there, I wanted some extra glitter so I put the Sephora liner on the bottom edge of my wing and the inner corner. I finished it off with the seriously amazing Marcelle mascara and voila, I am ready to party.

    1. I seriously love the Benefit foundation but I have heard many complaints that it is very yellow in undertone (not an issue for me but I know most people aren’t quite the same tone)!
