Airplanes and I don’t get along. Being stuck in a metal tube hurtling through the sky is not exactly my idea of fun, but I recently had to do a bit of travelling for work. So I had to find some way to make myself more comfortable and reduce my flight anxiety, and Saje Wellness had a few bits that helped tremendously.
I enjoy finding new gems in the cosmetics world, so when I had the opportunity to try MyChelle Dermaceuticals I jumped on it. MyChelle is a cruelty-free green beauty brand founded in Colorado that prides itself in ethically sourced, high performance ingredients. Sounds great, right?
Holiday releases are already flooding the beauty world, so I’m a bit late to the party with the Joe Fresh Fall 2016 Collection. But if you haven’t read anything about these gorgeous fall beauty bits, get ready to have your socks blown off because they are awesome.
At the end of summer, Shoppers Drug Mart marked down the essence Longlasting Lipstick section of the essence shelf, and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple. I’ve been on a serious lipstick kick the last few months (my lipstick storage is completely full now…) but I was so happy to add these two to my collection.
Every time a new type of beauty tool hits my radar I get two reactions: excitement and scepticism. The order of the two often varies, but they always occur together. I guess that’s one of the good things about being a blogger – I get to test out both my excitement and scepticism and tell you about my experience. The konjac sponge was no different than any other tool: I got a good ol’ dose of excitement and scepticism when they were first out on the market a few years ago. A lot of companies said that they were just short of miracle workers – they’d get rid of your acne! Brighten your skin! Deep clean! magic.
I guess that’s why I’ve waited so long to review any konjac sponges. The skepticism won out on this one. BUT. I am also really excited to be reviewing this little egg from ecotools today.
It’s been a hot minute since I’ve posted a haul here, but I am so darn excited about my first ever Colourpop Cosmetics order that I had to share a little peak. I haven’t tried any of these products for a long enough time to have any definitive thoughts, but that doesn’t mean I can’t share a little bit of makeup porn, right?
By now, most bloggers have tried at least something from Colourpop, but it’s taken me ages to jump on the bandwagon. Honestly, it was Kaitlyn’s fault. When I was in Toronto a few weeks ago she was sharing her recent haul and I swatched Kween…that was that. I couldn’t resist. Especially because it happened to be in the free international shipping period. [Read more…]
While I was in Toronto, I couldn’t help but go to the newly opened BITE Beauty Lip Lab on Queen Street West. I’ve wanted to go to the one in New York since I first heard about it and it was too good of an opportunity to pass up to walk by it and not go in. Initially I was all oh, I’m just gonna go in and look around, but as soon I stepped in the door I knew that was a lie.
I really adore trying new mascaras – it’s really fun for me to discover new gems, especially at the drugstore! The Covergirl Plumpify Mascara is all about the volume! Covergirl claims that it “plumpifies your lashes with 50x volume boost for full lashes!” (covergirl.com) I love a lot of volume on my lashes, so I was excited to give it a try.
The first thing I noticed when I opened up the packaging was how enormous the brush is on this! It’s a bit of an intimidating shape anyway (it’s so spiky!) but it is legitimately the size of my eye. Yikes. I struggle with getting mascara all over my eyelids with small brushes, so this one is a bit of a nightmare for that. If you’re neater with mascara you might be okay, though! I just don’t have the coordination. 😉 [Read more…]
I am getting back into lipstick in a big way. I went through a period where I was lucky if I wore a tinted lip balm, let along a lipstick other than a nude, but now that we’ve got some fun colours coming out I am so into it. I mean, I’ve wanted to try the NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks since I first saw them online, but when I saw there was a grey and a pastel purple? Needed them.
The NYX Liquid Suede Cream Lipsticks come in a pretty standard plastic tube with a spongey applicator that is the perfect mix of flexible and stiff. It can move with the contour of your lips but doesn’t flop all over the place so you get lipstick on your chin. Unless you mean to – in that case, it’s good for that too! 😉 [Read more…]
